Cant make any sense of IAP options

My kid went through the first 40 levels and then hit the paywall. But the options presented made NO sense. "300 hints for $8.99" and three tabs "open letters, close letters, pronunciation" ... Huh? There were also some weird message placeholders sipping through, in Russian.

I mean the game is well-done, but IAP is an utter mess. Seems to be too expensive too by the way.
